Baby Lucas Chapter 1 New toys for breakfast

Dear Perceptive Reader, here is a treat for you from my Baby Lucas Ebook Series some years back.

Baby Lucas Chapter 1 New toys for breakfast

From The Life and Times of Baby Lucas Book II: My Grandpa (Esq. Virtuoso)

1 New toys for breakfast!

“Good Morning Lucas,” his Mother greeted him with her usual happy and high tone.

Lucas just loved when his mother came into his room. There were times the experience was less than expected.

Sometimes after Lucas had slept three long hours, never mind the fact he decided to keep his mother and father up late that night, he would call out to mom in the wee hours of the morning!

For as long as Lucas could remember, and 11 months is a long time, Momma’s voice sounded deeper in the wee hours of the morning. Lucas’ curiosity peaked when his mother’s voice went from deep to fading off into a whisper by the end of each sentence. “How does Mom do that? My voice only does that when I cry.”

Lucas often asked Momma during these times, “Aren’t you happy to see me, Momma?”

Then as Lucas explains his perception, “Momma would just say ‘shh, shh.’ And then place a bottle of milk in my mouth. I wanted to play. But I never remember Momma ever leaving the room.”

After changing his diaper and putting on his favorite blue jumpsuit, Amber picked him up and started walking towards the dining room area right next to the kitchen.

Lucas’ mother placed him in the high chair located in the dining room. She let out a little giggle of amusement as Lucas’ face lit up to see the small plastic green bowl of food placed before him.

Lucas, “Look at the bright toys mom put on my plate!”

Amber knew what this meant, “Lucas eat your food and behave.”

“Sure Mom, you know I always listen to you,” Lucas’ gurgle words said one thing, but his eyes, wide open mouth, and kicking feet were saying something else!

Contrary to what Lucas was thinking, the rounded cereal bits were not toys. The four small berries were not either. Along with his milk, Baby Lucas had a nutritious and tasty meal placed before him.

The phone ranged right when Lucas’ mom was about to sit down in front of him.

“Who could that be?” Amber stood back up to go and answer the phone in her bedroom. “I will be back in a jiffy.”

“Okay, I got this Mom.”

Lucas, lifting up his bowl, “This looks like the fris-b (Frisbee) I saw on the TV. How did the giant man make it fly?”

Opening and closing his left palm around the bowl, “I can’t hold it like the giant on the TV. Maybe I should…” The shining blueberries caught his eye. “Hmm, let me see how these toys feel?” He wrapped his right hand around one berry and threw it in his mouth. As he smashed the berry between the teeth he had, “What a taste! What a feeling! This tastes good!”

Lucas happily thought, “I have to tell Mom to get me more of these toys.”

Staring at the three blueberries left, “I want to play with these later.” He grabbed each one and while pulling his neckline out from the jump suite dropped each blueberry down where he could not see them. “Well, at least they are safe. I will play with them tonight.”

Staring intently back at the green bowl, “Maybe it takes two hands to throw this fris-b (Frisbee)?”

“As he wrapped both hands around the bowl, he pulled it to his chest, and then pushed the bowl with all his might! “Wheee!” The rounded cereal went everywhere!

Amber came rushing into the dining area, placing her right-hand flat on the right side of her face while shaking her head, “My child of mine.”

All the while Lucas could not stop laughing. “Mom, can you give me back the fris-b (Frisbee)?”

As Amber cleaned up everything, “Lucas did you eat all the berries?”

Lucas stopped laughing and tried to look away like he did not hear her. “She wants to take my toys.”

Amber placed the broom up against the wall and picked Lucas up and performed her inspection of his jumpsuit.

“Mmm Hmm, just what I thought. Let’s get you cleaned up and we will try this again.”
