A Friend to Remember

The older friend said to the younger friend:
Do not forget me, if you ever move away.
Will you remember me when everything is going your way?
The younger friend looked with such care showing in the eyes at the older friend:
I remember you when there was not a penny in my hand.
I remember you giving me sustenance and covering without the fanfare of a band.
Discreetly, and quietly, we have always been a pair.
Even when you are not around, I feel you are always there. Will I remember you, as I latch my trailer in tow?
Yes, yes my friend, because you are unforgettable.
