The Move

The child did not want to move.
“No one wants to start a new school.”
“What about my best friend?”
“I just don’t want our friendship to end.”
The mother held the child and showed sympathy.
Expressing herself slowly and lightly such empathy.
“Keep the good memories of the fun you had.”
“After you settle in you will no longer be sad.”
The family relocated and the child was blue.
Nevertheless, just a few days later, the child found the mother’s words to be true.
