Dear Perceptive Reader,

James Carter Walker Jr.

When it comes to reading about history, IMHO it’s best to start the book with an open or objective mindset. Sure, the emotions will creep up on you at times; and this is all well and good; I say. Yet; the reason you start the reading or listening to an autobiography history on a public figure is to allow your mind to be susceptible to all possibilities. 

The public persona of a person still does not always give a listening ear to whom a person is or wants to be. For example; there have been famous personalities who specialized in mundane and quiet life activities they enjoyed at one time; but it did not place food on the table. At least not in the amount they needed for themselves. 

A Bit of History in reading and research provides the noble motives along with the reasons of adjustments in some of these figures lives. You may actually come to love them by the time you get through the book.

“James Carter Walker Jr. (born June 25, 1947), known professionally as Jimmie Walker, is an American actor and comedian. Walker is best known for portraying James Evans Jr. (J. J.), the oldest son of Florida and James Evans Sr. on the CBS television series Good Times which originally ran from 1974–1979. Walker was nominated for Golden Globe awards for Best Supporting Actor In A Television Series in 1975 and 1976 for his role. While on the show, Walker’s character was known for the catchphrase “Dy-no-mite!”

John Allen Amos Jr. “December 27, 1939 – August 21, 2024; was an American actor. He was best known for his role as Captain Meissner in Lock Up (1989) and Major Grant in Die Hard 2 (1990). He is also known as the adult Kunta Kinte in the landmark miniseries Roots and for portraying James Evans Sr. on the CBS television series Good Times. His other television work includes The Mary Tyler Moore Show, a recurring role as Admiral Percy Fitzwallace on The West Wing, and the role of the Mayor of Washington DC Ethan Baker in the series The District.
