It is time!
Time for what?
Multiplication can be a challenge. The multiplication tables chart is designed to teach the fundamentals. This helps in so many areas of life. From balancing your checkbook, to a household budget, multiplication is another important level of arithmetic.
“What? I thought the calculator is used for this.”
The calculator makes it convenient but did you know using a calculator does not necessarily make it faster for you to solve a simple multiplication problem?
For example
Student number 1 has memorized the multiplication tables 1 to 10.
Student number 2 has a calculator.
The teacher asks, “What is 4×4?”
Student number 1 immediately says, “16!”
Student number 2 after pushing a few buttons and a couple of seconds later says, “16.”
It is good to know that student number 2 would eventually get the right answer. But what if the calculator’s battery is dead? There are also times when student number 2 will not have the calculator in his or her possession. Yes, it is more advantageous to learn your multiplication tables from 1 to 10 as soon possible!

When you have your own Multiplication tables Chart
While looking over the chart it may be overwhelming at first, but with revising and memorization techniques you will be stating 10 x 10 = 100 in no time! Faster than the fastest calculator button pusher.
Here is how you do it
It is helpful to start with 0.
Example: 0 x 0 = 0; 0 x 1 = 0; 0 x 2 = 0 and so forth.
Then you learn your next row starting with 1.
Example: 1 x 0 = 0; 1 x 1 = 1; 1 x 2 = 2 and so forth.
Keep studying with each row until you firmly have it memorized. Print out the chart above and keep it in your pocket or purse. Ask your parents and friends to quiz you throughout the day on the row you are working on. You will start to have dreams about the multiplication table. Even in your sleep you will get the answers right every time!
When this happens, you will have it firmly implanted in your brain for the rest of your life. You won’t even have to think about it or use your finger. Your mind will naturally say 7 x 6 = 42 while your hands are filled with your favorite pizza.
One last note. Do not get discouraged if others learn all their multiplication tables in less than a week. Just focus on yourself. It is better for you to take the time to learn it, then to give up because you feel you are slow. Remember, you may think you are slow, but your mind could really be working in a way that is best for you to learn it and maintain it. In the home stretch, or long run, your thinking ability will increase as you happily find out what is the best way for you to learn.
